Ask any lay man what organic food is. Most will likely end up thinking its food grown chemical free. Devoid of any pesticides.

It's True. That is what organic food is. Most organic farmers would replace their chemicals with organic matter in the soil and thats it.

But there is more to organic and natural way of farming than that.

Farming in a real sense is about idealistically being in harmony with nature. The farm, the land, the crops, the birds and others visitors to the farm and also the farmer himself being in a harmonious spirit with the laws of nature.

> And it happens when organic matter not from outside but produced inside the farm is utilised.

> When multi-cropping is followed because nature follows the law of unity in diversity.

> When insects attacking the crops (for short time) are not seen as enemies, but friends in a large scheme of things.

> When weeds are understood as facilitators in helping grow crops and not as uninvited guests.

> When food is primilary cultivated for the farmer and his family first.

> When foods specific to the region is emphasied more. rather than any exotic variety brought from outside.

> When seeds are naturally improved upon on the farm rather than in a university or a corporate.
