Few days before the Battle of Thermopylae took off between the 300 Spartans and 1.2 lakh Xerxes, a few scouts spied on the 300 to see what they were doing.
All they saw was the greeks practicing some few exercises. To them it was a joke. How would this (and courage) help them in battling the big army that was waiting to crush them into the dustbins of history.
On the day of the battle, the shear strength that the 300 showed not just inner but outer too is a testament to what calisthenics can do to your physicue if you practice it diligently everyday!
When you do a simple pushup or a pullup you are tapping into the wisdom of the great masters that came before you. The masters who worked on their body, refined the techniques and passed it down to you.
The masters who saw their body as a part of nature. And therefore used it to build itself.
The body that was given as a gift. Not too much. Not too little. But the exact weight and size for you to build yourself.
The word calisthenics come from Kalos: beauty. And thenos: strength.
Lets give an order to our physicue so that it reflects beauty and shear strength from every part of its cell!
And lets continue the chain so that it inspires others to do the same, thousands of years later!
